By now staggering quality, safety and service issues at Tesla are so well known that it's fodder for mainstream comedy.

Aug. 24: Musk claims he's dropping "distracting" take-private bid: "We absolutely must stay focused on ramping Model 3 and becoming profitable".

Aug. 28: Musk re-ups baseless slur of rescue volunteer who made fun of his submarine, stating that if the "pedo" accusation weren't true the man would've sued him.

If fact, Musk was notified of a pending lawsuit by the man's lawyer three weeks ago.
